When you receive your monthly MotorCheck invoice, you may sometimes see a line item listed as “MotorCheck Trade Website Monthly Fixed Billing Overage” alongside your regular “Monthly Fixed Billing” charge. We understand this can raise questions, so here's a quick breakdown to help clarify what this means.
What’s Included in “Monthly Fixed Billing”?
Your Monthly Fixed Billing is the agreed package charge for a set number of vehicle history checks each month. This gives you predictable costs and easy budgeting.
For example, if your package includes 20 checks per month for £60, you’ll see that amount listed under “Monthly Fixed Billing” (see example below)
What Does “Overage” Mean?
Overage refers to any usage or charges that go beyond your monthly allowance of checks. Each monthly plan has a fixed fee, calculated using the minimum number of checks in the band multiplied by the discounted cost per check (see pricing here).
This fee covers only the minimum number of checks for that band. Any additional checks above that minimum are charged at the same discounted cost per check. So for example, If you're on the 20–49 checks band: Your monthly plan is £60 (20 checks × £2.95 rounded up) and if you do 41 checks, the additional 21 checks are charged at £2.95 each.
These are priced per additional check and appear on your invoice as “Monthly Fixed Billing Overage.” - see example below. You’ll only see this charge if you’ve exceeded the minimum quantity of reports on your monthly package.
